With three bedrooms & three bathrooms, sleeping up to six guests, this eco lodge offers comfortable accommodation and access to the river, with up to four rods available depending on season and availability.

REIDS

Reid’s Cottage is our second year-round cottage — a cosy two-bedroom, two-bathroom retreat with a wood burner and panoramic views over the village of Lairg and the waters of Loch Shin. Just a quarter mile from local shops and the village pub, it’s perfect for those seeking rest and relaxation while exploring the Scottish Highlands.

ACTIVITIES

FISHING

The salmon fishing season on the Shin runs from the end of May through to the end of September. Guests enjoy 3.5 miles of prime water on the Upper Shin, offering 8 rods across 32 named pools included within your stay at the Lodge, and available on request at Phil’s . The river’s water level is regulated by two upstream hydro dams, ensuring consistently good fishing conditions throughout the summer months. The beat is divided into two four-rod sections, which rotate at lunchtime. Seasonal trout fishing on the loch is also available on request.

GOLF

Several outstanding golf courses lie within 40 minutes to an hour of Lairg, each with its own distinctive character and unbeatable scenery: from nine-holers to internationally recognised courses; including Royal Dornoch, one of the best & most historic courses in the world.

HIKING & SWIMMING

For those looking to explore beyond the river, the area offers wild swimming in the clear waters of our river, local loch and nearby beaches, as well as an abundance of long hike opportunities through the scenic Highlands. Cycling is also a popular sport in the area.

STALKING/ SHOOTING

For those interested, our team can arrange seasonal stalking and clay pigeon shooting at nearby estates, offering a traditional Highland sporting experience tailored to your preferences.
